Xavier quickly gets back on track with sweep of C.R. Washington
CEDAR RAPIDS – Cedar Rapids Xavier's softball team crashed back down to Earth on Monday. It didn't take long for the Saints to get back to their recent winning ways.
Xavier swept host Cedar Rapids Washington by scores of 5-3 and 10-1 a day after its nine-game winning streak was snapped with a pair of losses to Waterloo West.
Erin Drahozal's RBI single broke a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning. She also hit a solo home run in the third inning that gave Xavier a 3-0 lead at the time.
Brandy Packingham had a single and two RBIs for the Warriors.
Xavier is now 19-11, while Washington is 11-16.
