Former Xavier prep Adam McDermott intends to transfer from North Dakota

CEDAR RAPIDS — Former Cedar Rapids Xavier all-stater Adam McDermott confirmed Monday night he intends to transfer from the University of North Dakota basketball team.
The 6-foot-4 freshman played in all 32 UND games this season, starting once. He averaged 6.7 points per game, making a team-high 56 3-pointers.
He had a career-high 28 points, including eight treys, in an early February win over Idaho State. McDermott was a first-team Class 3A all-stater by the Iowa Newspaper Association in 2014-15, averaging a team-high 17.9 points.
Via text, he said he was not at liberty to discuss specifics of his transfer, adding all paper work had not been filled out.
