CEDAR RAPIDS - There is no offseason for swimmers,
Thanks to club swimming, Cedar Rapids Xavier seniors George Durin and Carter Kramer - who swim for Washington and Kennedy, respectively - were ready when the 2017-18 season started.
'I feel really good,” Durin said at the start of the season. 'I'm in great shape, way better than I ever have felt before at this point in the season.”
There are 10 Xavier swimmers who swim for either Washington or Kennedy High Schools. Their teams are determined by the district they live in.
Both teams have high hopes for the end-of-season goals.
'At the beginning of the season we will struggle to find our footing, but we will have people step up and fill the shoes of those seniors,” Kramer said.
