Twisters, Somersaults gymnasts win gold

WHEELER, MEYERS TRIPLE WINNERS
Lyndsey Wheeler and Skylar Meyers of Twisters Gymnastics both won three events last weekend at the Mardi Gras Masquerade, hosted by Sapphire Gymnastics in Des Moines.
Wheeler won the beam, floor exercise and all around in the silver division, Meyers the vault, bars and all around in diamond. Sydney Huber (vault, all around) and Sarah Nolting (beam, floor) were double winners in bronze and diamond divisions.
Other Twisters winners were Loralei Wilson (floor) in bronze; Catherine Schooley (bars), Madison Marcus (floor), Abigail Green (floor), McKenna Haugen (floor) and Emma Herold (vault) in silver; Amelia Berger (floor), Aliya Keaton (floor), Blair Pladsen (beam) and Leah Crilley (bars) in gold; and Anna Penning (floor) in platinum.
Other Twisters placewinners were Harper Flannagan in bronze; Meghan Burtis, Audrey Leno, Chloe Schultz and Taryn Bortz in silver; Hannah Roth, Brook Pladsen, Ellie Martens and Sophie Wilbanks in gold, and Aliyah Burtis in platinum.
At the Candyland Classic in Waterloo, also last weekend, Samantha Schoff won the vault and beam, Evalaee Netz won the beam and Kinley Claypool and Rylynn Shepley were placewinners, all in bronze.
SOMERSAULTS' DAVIS WIN 4 TITLES
WATERLOO - Bailey Davis of Somersaults Gymnstics won four events at the Candyland Classic, capturing the vault, bars, floor exercise and all around in the silver division.
Meika Neal won the bars, floor and all around in bronze, and Laura Swart took home gold in the vault and all around in gold. Other Somersault winners were Emily Henderson (floor). Bailey Hakert (vault) and Ava Christensen (bars) in bronze, Megan Schulte (beam) in silver, and Paige Hacke (beam), Ashley Lappin (bars) and Chiara Lappin (bars) in gold.
Somersaults won the bronze team title.
Somersaults placewinners were Ava Blue, Maya Carrizales, Greta Gordon and Natalie Osterberg in bronze; Elsa Appleton, Baylee Gabrielson, Logan Kalous, Megan Schulte, Clare Swanson and Lindsey Weig in silver; and Rebecca Hein and Gracie Ironside in gold.
