Big Dance announcers have ‘got’ some grammar issues

Like you I have been enjoying the NCAA men's basketball tournament. But I have a beef. Not with the networks. Tru, TNT, TBS and CBS have done a fantastic job. My beef is with some of the announcers. For example: I have heard more than one say something like 'Garza's got 20 points.” Excuse me? Garza does not 'got” 20 points. He 'has” 20 points. Maybe he 'got” them in the first half but he still 'has” 20 points. This seems to have become more prevalent with broadcasters at every level. Am I correct, English teachers?
