Patterson, Kevin Dean
Kevin Dean Patterson, 55, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center after a sudden illness. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids by the Rev. Bill Harnish. Visitation will be two hours before the service at the funeral home. Inurnment at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Patterson; his mother, Barbara Patterson of Walford; three children, Zach (Shawna) Patterson, and their children, Brady and Kaylee, of Atkins, Brandi Patterson (Ibraheem), and their children, Malak and Yasmeen, of Cedar Rapids, and Jessica Patterson (Ryan), and their children, Jaden and Zoey, of Center Point; two brothers, Doyle and Rusty, both of Walford; and his father- and mother-in-law, Robert and Marlene Sirowy of Fairfax.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Helen Ferrell.
Kevin was born Aug. 17, 1956, in Newton, Iowa. On Sept. 17, 1977, he married his best friend and soul mate, Lisa Kay Sirowy in Cedar Rapids. Kevin worked for Goss Graphics for 20 years and for the last six years at the Cedar Rapids Parks Department.
Kevin was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Most of all he was a family man who loved his wife, children, and grandchildren with all of his heart. He devoted his life to his family and touched many lives through coaching his children and their teams in Atkins.
Kevin was dearly loved and he will truly be missed by all.
