Everett Ray Huffer, 62, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, May 31, 2018, in his home. Celebration of Life services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, with the
Rev. Rick Gail presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to
7 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Brosh Chapel. Private family inurnment will be in Sulek Cemetery near Shueyville.
Everett was born Jan. 7, 1956, in Fort Lewis, Wash., the son of Ted and Darlene (Cornwell) Huffer Jr. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School, Class of 1974. Everett worked for many years at Penick & Ford, Wilson Foods, Quality Chef-Heinz, and most recently at Ingredion, as well as operating his own business, Midwest Paper Collectibles. Everett was united in marriage to Lisa Hale-Loehr on Dec. 28, 1991, in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed collecting antiques, playing basketball, watching sports, bowling and spending time with his family, especially the grandkids.
Everett is survived by his wife, Lisa; daughters, Jessica Loehr (Tony Gonzales) of Omaha, Neb., and Melissa Huffer of Hiawatha; son, Matthew Huffer of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Antonio, Sofia, Emilio and Myah; his siblings, Garry Huffer of Solon, Dennis (Shelly) Huffer of Marion and Sharon Huffer of Cedar Rapids; as well as his nieces and nephews.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents; and his mother- and father-in-law, Wilma and Raymond Hale.
