Former Linn-Mar prep Marcus Paige signs 2-way NBA deal with Charlotte Hornets

Aug. 1, 2017 8:05 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS — Former Linn-Mar prep Marcus Paige has signed a two-way contract with the NBA's Charlotte Hornets, the Charlotte Observer reported Tuesday.
A point guard from the University of North Carolina, Paige spent this past season with the Salt Lake City Stars of the NBA Development League (now known as the G-League), averaging 12.1 points and 2.2 assists per game. He is expected to spend most of this coming season with the Greensboro Swarm, Charlotte's G-League affiliate.
Each NBA team can sign a pair of players to two-way contracts as a means to help development them and keep them in their organization. They receive certain pay for being in the G-League and certain pay for being in the NBA.
