Sunde, Eric L.
Eric L. Sunde, 39, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, in Brucken, Germany, following a lengthy illness. A gathering will be held today from 3 until 6 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Family Center & Library, where military rites will be conducted at 4 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa M. Sunde; two sons, Jacob T. Sunde and Jarrod T. Sunde; his parents, Leonard (June) Sunde and Joyce Sunde; a sister, Andrea N. (Jeff) Abernathey; his maternal grandmother, Ruby Kisling; aunts, uncles, nieces, a nephew and several cousins.
His paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather preceded him in death.
Eric was born Dec. 27, 1970, in Newton, Iowa, the son of Leonard and Joyce Kisling Sunde. He married Lisa M. Wolf on Nov. 4, 1994, in Aabenraah, Denmark. He graduated from J.F. Kennedy High School in 1990 and Army Pharmacy Specialist Program in 1992 and served for six years. Eric loved to travel, especially Europe, and enjoyed hockey. He loved music, was an avid vocalist and computer enthusiast.
Eric was a loving husband, father and son.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
