Rose Marie La Grange was born June 6, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph K. and Irene M. (Plotz) La Grange. After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Northern Iowa and University of Iowa. She had since resided in Iowa City. Rose has worked several jobs throughout her life, always with the motivation to better the lives of those around her. She has worked for many years at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as a clerk and previously at Mercy Iowa City and the Iowa City Community School District, to name a few.
She was the vibrant, cheerful life of the party! Rose was a woman of compassion and genuine kindness, who loved helping others and never met a stranger. When she did take time to herself, she enjoyed that time spent painting, drawing, gardening, watching the birds and enjoying the companionship of her cats.
Rose had many challenges throughout her life and faced every one of them head on. Her life was devoted to her children and making sure they knew that each and every day of their lives.
Her family includes her three children, Korwin Dougherty and Madeline and Harrison La Grange; siblings and their spouses, Robert La Grange (Dolores) of Amana, Mark La Grange (Sharron) of Amana, Cecelia Burbach (Gary) of Marion, Colette Slezak (Don) of Cedar Rapids, Ed La Grange of Swisher, Jim La Grange (Dot) of West Union, Sydney La Grange (Karen) of Amana, Monica Bender of Cedar Rapids, Mary La Grange of Genoa, Wis., and Anna Mumm (Randy) of Walford.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John.
