Priscilla Schroeder, Priscilla Schroeder
Priscilla Schroeder, 77, of Marion, died at her home on Sept. 14, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may visit after 12:30 p.m. at the chapel.
Priscilla Lorraine Plumb was born March 13, 1932 in Des Moines. She had a twin brother, Randall Plumb, who she grew up with in Wenatchee, Wash. Priscilla attended Pepperdine University in California, and later Drake University in Des Moines, where she majored in art and was a sister in the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority house.
Priscilla had 3 children with her first husband, Stewart Framness; Bob Framness (deceased), Kathy Kramer (Dale) residing in Dougherty, and Debra Roberts (Doug) residing in Le Claire. Priscilla married Delbert Schroeder on December 19, 1961. Together they had twins, Tamara Martensen (Chris) residing in Plain, Wis. and Pamela Nissen (Bill) residing in Springville.
Priscilla worked in retail and banking, retiring from Farmer's State Bank of Marion after 15 years of service, where everyone enjoyed hearing her contagious laughter. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing the piano. Following retirement she rediscovered her love for creating artwork. She would send handmade greeting cards, always well suited, and never a person's special occasion forgotten. Priscilla was an avid reader, so much so that she developed her own cataloged book file.
Over the past several years, Priscilla and Delbert shared many great memories while traveling in their RV. Priscilla is most remembered for her commitment to being a wonderful mother. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile and laughter made every occasion fun and memorable.
Priscilla is preceded in death by her parents; her brother; and her son.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, daughters, grandchildren; Dylan Framness, Heather Kramer, Calley and Carter Roberts, Bennett Martensen, and MaryAnna, Noel and Elias Nissen, and beloved family and friends.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy.
