SUE JEFFREY
Cedar Rapids
Sue Jeffrey, 66, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Oct. 18, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Celebration of Life and Time of Sharing: 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 520 Wilson Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids.
Sue was born on Sept. 30, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of Robert and Jo (Fox) Canterbury. She retired from Honeywell/
Intermec/Norand in 2015, with over 40 years of service. Sue loved horses from the time she was a toddler crawling around on all fours, rearing up like a horse, to showing champion Tennessee Walkers as an adult. Whatever Sue did, she did very well. She had gorgeous hydrangea and hosta beds and was known for her annual container gardens. You always knew where you stood with Sue, she didn't hesitate to share her opinion. She definitely lived life her way as much as she could. There were good and bad times, but few regrets. Wherever Sue went, it was a party. One of her favorite sayings was "I had them laughing," even if it was a root canal. Sue was a loving sister and faithful friend. She would give you anything she had without a second thought.
Survivors include her daughter, Julie (Jesus) Hernandez of Moline, Ill.; grandchildren, Adriana and Chelsey; siblings, Sandy (Tuc) Erickson of Tucson, Ariz., Darby (Mike) Murray of Solon, Iowa, Dan (Beth) Rankin of Front Royal, Va., Mike (Pauline) Stark of Bettendorf, Iowa, Deb (Jim) Palmer of Robins, Iowa, Kathryn (Harry) Lofton of Lakeland, Tenn., and Stan (Kim) Stark of Carlsbad, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her mother; father; and canine friend, Duke.
Memorials may be directed to Salvation Army or Animal Resource Foundation.
