Jean B. Martin, 95, of Anamosa, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at Anamosa Care Center. No memorial services or burial at this time.
Jean Beulah Martin was born on May 19, 1920, to Lee and Beulah Franks Israel, in Denver. She was united in marriage to William T. Martin on Oct. 23, 1947, in Phoenix. Jean was active in Boy Scouts for 48 years. She was a den mother for Pack 55, Cedar Falls, and scout counselor for Troop 927 in Two Rivers, Wis., and Troop 67 in Anamosa. Jean obtained the highest award in Boy Scouts, the Silver Beaver of White Buffalo.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary (Bob) Martin Simanek of Anamosa and Nancy (Al) Martin Holmes of Benton, Wash.; and grandchildren, Jim (Julia) Wittnebel of Marion and their children, Alex, Peter and Greg; USN Commander Tory (Melissa) Swanson of Hawaii and their children, Shay and Mia; Tara Swanson of Denver.; and Angela (Joe) Finn Dougherty of Cedar Rapids and their children, Bella, Josey and Finn.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, William Martin; daughter, Betty Martin Finn; sons, Robert and Billy Martin; mother, Beulah; and father, Lee.
