Burkey, Cleone 'Peggy' G.
Cleone “Peggy” G. Burkey, 91, of Davenport, formerly of Anamosa, passed away Dec. 22, 2010, at her home. Private family services were held this week.
Surviving to honor her memory are her children, Mary (Richard) Albers of Davenport, Deb (Jeff) Feldbruegge of Madison, Wis., and Larry (Virginia) Burkey of Walker; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clayton (Marian) Burns of Belle Plaine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron (Blaine); her parents, William and Myrtle (Hamm) Burns; six brothers, a sister and a grandchild.
Cleone was born Nov. 29, 1919, in Dougherty, Iowa. On July 24, 1943, she was united in marriage to Myron Burkey in Cedar Rapids. Cleone had a special love of children and she was a true friend to everyone she met. She dedicated her life to helping others and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
