Phyllis Lyle, 93, of Washington, formerly of Keota, died Friday, June 2, 2017, at her home.
Phyllis was born May 21, 1924, in Washington, to William and Armorelle (McCreedy) Miller, and graduated from Keota High School in 1941. On Aug. 1, 1946, she married Richard Lyle at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She and Richard farmed in the Keota area, where Phyllis was an active member of the United Church of Faith, Church Women United and the LGV Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include six children, Lila (Arlyn) Midtgaard of Hanlontown, Ron (Christy) Lyle of Mesa, Ariz., Nancy (Ed) Crites of Washington, Trent (Joy) Lyle of Keota, Patty (Bill) Treimer of Hartley and Sarah (Matt) Roegner of Beloit, Wis.; 20 grandchildren; 32
great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Stoutner and Mary Lou Miller, both of Keota; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; sons, Kevin in infancy and David; and granddaughter, Jami Lynne Lyle.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, at United Church of Faith in Keota, with the Rev. Mike Druhl officiating. Burial will be in Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 5, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota.
A memorial fund has been established for the United Church of Faith or American Cancer Society.
