Pencock, Jim
Jim Pencook, 73, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday, July 8, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 11, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday with a Scripture service at 7 p.m. at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Dougherty, Iowa, at 1 p.m. Friday, July 12.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Pencook of Cedar Rapids; children, Laura Burke, Larry Pencook, Elaine (Michael) Kelly and Melinda Myers all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Katie, Ellie, Jimmy Burke, Nathaniel, Hannah, Rebekah Pencook, Wesley Pudil, Brenna Parke and Lane and Gabrielle Myers; sisters, Mary Ann (Bob) Cunningham of Las Vegas and Marilyn (Vernon) Krautkremer of Papillion, Neb.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Delores; and a son-in-law, Patrick Burke.
Jim was born Oct. 22, 1939, in Dougherty, Iowa, son of Clinton and Margaret (Sweeney) Pencook. He graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Cedar Rapids in 1958. On May 27, 1961, he married Joyce Barger at St. Patrick's Church. Jim worked at Franklin Equipment for 30 years.
Memorials may be directed to Disabled American Veterans, the Salvation Army or St. Ludmila Church.
