Jefferson, Prairie lead All-Metro selections

Cedar Rapids Jefferson and Cedar Rapids Prairie earned the most selections to the first team of the 2015 All-Metro baseball team released Thursday.

The Hawks and J-Hawks each had three first-team picks. Prairie, which set a school record with 31 wins this summer, was led by Nic Mougin, Cal Clark and Trey Beckman. The J-Hawks placed Spencer Van Scoyoc, Tyler Roeder and Lucas Larson were first-team picks.

Cedar Rapids Kennedy was the lone Metro team to reach the state tournament. The Cougars were represented on the first team by seniors Sammy Lizarraga and Zach Daniels.

Linn-Mar and Cedar Rapids Washington also had two players with first-team honors. Manny Jeffery and Adam Bradley made the team for the Lions, while Trey Leonard and Landon Akers were chosen for the Warriors. David Kuhn, of Marion, and Cedar Rapids Xavier's Nolan Arp were first-team selections.

Jefferson Coach Kyle Rodenkirk and Prairie Coach Todd Rima shared Metro Coach of the Year honors.
