Ronda Lee Hopkins was born Aug. 15, 1946, to Gene and Leah (Barkdoll) Petersen in Vinton, Iowa. She attended Garrison High School, graduating in 1964. Ronda married Richard Hopkins on Aug. 17, 1969.
She was a stay-at-home mom until her children were grown and then she joined her husband in the family business, Hopkins Trucking.
Ronda's family was her life. She loved being a wife, mother and grandma. On her weekend off, she made sure she was able to spend time with her family, and would often take trips to Illinois to see her daughter and grandchildren. Spending time with her family was what she did when she had free time; they were her everything.
She was preceded in death by her father and her son, Rick Allen Hopkins.
Ronda is survived by her husband, Richard; her daughters, Regina (Byron Cooper) Hopkins and Rani (LC) Cannady; two stepdaughters, Cindy (Russel) Love and Tammy Hopkins; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Doug (Ronda) Petersen and Chuck (Debbie) Petersen.
Ronda was a loving wife, mom, grandma, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
