DOROTHY LEMASTER
Cedar Rapids
Dorothy LeMaster of Davenport, formerly of Cedar Rapids, devoted mother of Diana (Ernie) Benda of Davenport and Hazelann LeMaster (Robert Morales) of Texas, transitioned from this earthly plane to Heaven on March 7, 2016, at 6:53 p.m., surrounded by her loving family and coached to reach Heaven's gates by her granddaughter, Kathy O'Haver. Through her coaching, Kathy gave new meaning to the term "Life Coach." Mom was 91j, 10m and 7t. She was born one of seven children in East Amana, Iowa, in the house that she was raised in. Private service at a later date. Arrangements made by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Mom is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law; granddaughter, Kathy (Scott) O'Haver; two great-grandchildren, Khloe and Seth O'Haver of Davenport; sister, Lucille Rank of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.
Mom was preceded in death by the untimely death of her beloved grandson, Matt Wall in 1991. Her heart was further broken by the loss of her devoted husband, Harold LeMaster in 1995.
After dad's death, mom lived alone for 10 years on the acreage they built together. In 2006, mom went to live with her eldest daughter, Diana, who took exceptional care of her until her death.
Thank you mom for your devotion to your family. You taught your daughters well. Rest now knowing those lessons are kept alive through all we do and are passed on to your great-grandchildren. Mom, you gave us life and we were there to see you begin your new life. We love you.
