Patterson, Mark
Mark Patterson, 34, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital of an aorta aneurysm. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Immediately following the burial service, a reception and celebration of Mark's life will be held at the Cherry Building, 329 10th Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids. From there a New Orleans style jazz band funeral procession will make its way through the streets of New Bohemia returning to the Cherry Building.
Mark was born Dec. 10, 1977, the son of Tom and Donna Patterson in Hiawatha. Mark graduated in 1996 from Regis High School in Cedar Rapids. Mark graduated from Kirkwood Community College with an Associate Degree and continued his education at the University of Northern Iowa where he pursued a degree in Management Information Technology. Mark married Sarah Luke on April 22, 2006. Mark worked for Ecolips as the CEO in Cedar Rapids. Mark was a member of LAMBA, and a board member of the Czech Village/New Bohemia Main Street District Board. Mark enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his bicycle and everything in nature. He shared his life with many good friends.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah; one son, Luke; and two daughters, Elizabeth and Lily of Cedar Rapids; his father and mother, Tom and Donna Patterson of Hiawatha; brother, Jerry Patterson of Allenspark, Colo.; grandmother, Alice Tate of Cedar Falls; and mother and father-in-law, Marcine and Douglas Luke of Marion.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up with Veridian Credit Union for Luke, Elizabeth and Lily Patterson.
