Marceil Kimm, 88, died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, at Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown, with the Rev. David Rempfer officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
A memorial fund has been established for Grace Lutheran Church.
Marceil was born Nov. 6, 1926, in Jay County, Ind., to Wave and Geoginia (Beard) Williams. She married Max KImm on May 22, 1950, at Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown. Marceil worked as a bookkeeper for Kimm's DX in Blairstown for many years.
She was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church and was very active in her community, serving as a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Blairstown American Legion Auxiliary Unit 170. She also served as a poll worker for many years.
She and Max enjoyed wintering in Arizona for many years. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
She is survived by her husband, Max Kimm, of Blairstown; two daughters, Kathy Knight of Cedar Rapids and Lynn (Mark) Gielau of Denver; two sons, Marty Kimm and Barry (Theresa) Kimm, both of Blairstown; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Wanda Muck of Cedar Rapids, Judy Gibney of Solon and Sondra (John) White of the Quad Cities; her sister-in-law, Doris Williams of Atkins; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wendell and Keith; and two sisters, Juanita and Shirley.
