Sellner, Terry Michael
Terry Michael Sellner, 57, of Earlville, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, surrounded by his family. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Earlville, by the Rev. Noah Diehm. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday with an 8 p.m. Scripture service at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Earlville. Additional visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Earlville.
Terry was born July 31, 1956, in Manchester. He received his education at Maquoketa Valley Schools and Hawkeye Tech. Terry was united in marriage on Jan. 6, 1978, to Karen Oberbroeckling with whom he had three children. They later divorced. Terry spent many years as a mechanic working for various businesses including Kreeb Brothers, Weilands, AKI, Welters Storage and Ra-Ly Transport. He loved tinkering with motors, motorcycles, gardening, was a master of crossword puzzles and an avid reader all his life.
Terry is survived by three children, Joe Sellner, Jude (Jess) Sellner and Jayci (Jason) Hamm; parents, Don (Bonnie) Sellner and Carol Raithel; a brother, Tom (Pam) Sellner; sisters, Tamy (Bob) Halfhill, Tracy Bohr, Tana (Grant) Guetzko, Trudy (Jim) Carmichael, Tina (Duane) Elgin and Tricia (Al) Connolly; seven grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Betty Richardson.
Terry was preceded in death by his stepfather, Art Raithel; a brother, Tim Sellner; a grandchild, Matthew Sellner; and nephews, Seth Sellner and Austin Newman.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his memory.
