Tumey, Rosemary Louise
Rosemary Louise Tumey, 90, of Ryan, died at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, on Sunday, April 8, 2012. She was born on July 19, 1921, in Alcomdale, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Ann (McGirl) Morin. Rosemary attended rural school in Canada.
Rosemary was united in marriage to Leslie F. Tumey on Feb. 18, 1947, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ryan. They met while Rosemary was in the Ryan visiting family. Five children were blessed to this marriage. Together they farmed near Ryan.
Rosemary was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning, flowers and most of all her family.
Survivors include two sons, Terry (Rose) Tumey of Ryan and Martin Tumey; three daughters, Karen (Donald) Cook of Ryan, Margo (Monte) Ahrendsen of Oxford Junction, and Trudy Wright of North Liberty; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Agnes McIntyre of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie in 1997; a grandson, Michael Tumey in 1994; one brother, Arthur Morin; two sisters, Yvonne Morin and Mildred Hirshmann; and her parents.
Memorials may be designated to Camp Courageous, Delaware County Food Pantry or Hospice of Mercy in Cedar Rapids.

Mass of Resurrection: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 12, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ryan. Celebrant: Rev. John Flaherty. Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester, with a 3 p.m. rosary. Also visitation one hour before the service Thursday at the church. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Ryan, Iowa.
