Fee, Bernitta Violet Boyles
Bernitta Violet Boyles Fee, 74, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at Virginia Gay Hospital, Vinton, following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, with Pastor Walt Grimes officiating. Interment will be held at Cox Cemetery, near Urbana. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Bernitta was born July 28, 1936, in Center Point, to Donald and Dorothy (Bascom) Boyles. Bernitta worked at Weyerhauser Co. in Cedar Rapids. On Dec. 24, 1959, she married Earl Fee in Independence. Bernitta Loved to garden and grow flowers. She loved spending time at the local convenience store with the local residents. Her four very special friends Mary Lou, Thelma, Delores and Mary held a warm spot in her heart. She loved spending time with her family, but the dearest person in her life was her little great-granddaughter, Aiva with whom she shared many chocolate covered raisins.
Bernitta is survived by her husband, Earl; two daughters, Connie (Frank) Michael and Trudy (Ray) Purdy, all of Urbana; one stepdaughter, Carol (Mick) Welsh of Williamsburg; one sister, Linda Morris of Center Point; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one stepgreat-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Evelyn; and one stepgrandson.
Bernitta was loved by many and will be missed by many.
