Speck, Peggy J.
Peggy J. Speck, 62, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, June 26, 2010, in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Del Bear. Burial will be at a later date.
Survivors include her mother, Esther Evans of Kahoka, Mo.; children, Tonia (Paul) Velte of Rogers, Ark., and Craig (Irene) Wallroff of Maquoketa; three grandchildren, Eric (Candice), Alysia and Lexi; a great-grandchild, Lillian Stiles; and two sisters, Judy (Lyle) Noeller and Trudy (Butch) Stahr.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Tom Evans; husband, JoyDale; son, Chad Wallroff; and her brother, Jerry Evans.
Born May 22, 1948, in Muscatine, Iowa, Peggy was the daughter of Thomas and Esther (Lukins) Evans. On Oct. 20, 1990, she was united in marriage to JoyDale Speck. Peggy worked as a cashier at Coe College, where she was know as Mama Peggy to the students and loved by all.
Peggy was a tiny woman with a huge heart. She was a woman full of life. She loved her children, grandchildren and Betty Boop. She will be missed by all.
