Meehan, Kelly Edward

Kelly Edward Meehan was born Jan. 28, 1955, and passed away Nov. 9, 2011, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was the son of Edward and Betty Meehan of Lamont. Kelly was the proud father of Chase (Ann) and Mark. He treasured the times he spent with his boys. He was the brother of Trudy, Denise and Brian (Pete). He graduated from Starmont High School in 1974. He lived and worked in the construction industry in Texas for the past 30 years. Kelly was married to Vicki West and they shared a passion for riding motorcycles in the Texas Hill Country. He loved to ride and spend time with his Iowa and Texas family and friends. He also was a master woodcarver and made custom furniture.

Kelly was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; paternal grandparents, Ed and Alice Meehan; maternal grandparents, Dale and Mary Learn; and a nephew, David Tribbey.

A Celebration of Kelly's Life will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the American Legion hall in Lamont. You are invited to bring a picture or story to share. Casual dress. A simultaneous celebration of life will be taking place in Texas.

Surviving family members include his wife, Vicki of Wimberley, Texas; his father, Ed of Lamont; sons, Chase (Ann) of Davenport, and Mark of Waterloo; and siblings, Trudy of Casper, Wyo., Denise (Jerry Tribbey) of Horicon, Wis., and Pete (Terri) of Cedar Falls.
