Meyer, Douglas C.
Douglas C. Meyer passed away, surrounded by his family, on Friday, July 20, 2012. To celebrate Doug's life, friends may visit from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, with a Celebration of Life following at 3 p.m., at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, by the Rev. Mary Taylor of the United Church of Christ.
Strange to write your own obituary? A bit. Yet it is as it should be. Few people knew me better. It makes damn little difference to recite date of birth or date of death, it's everything else in between! And in that area I have been very, very fortunate. Smartest, luckiest encounter ever, Roseanne Shea (friend, wife). Greatest achievements? Way too easy! Jennifer, Heather, Chuck (kids), Aaron Meyer, Dave Lane (exceptional sons-in-law), Ava, Maddy, Mackenzie, Maddox and Aubrey (grandchildren).
Side benefits? Sure. Too many really good friends and extremely caring people.
Regrets? Have you not been paying attention? See opening paragraph above.
Please do not mourn. Celebrate what has been accomplished. Celebrate what will yet be accomplished!
Thanks, Doug.
