Aldine Rae Hastings, 79, of the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, died there Friday, March 3, 2017. Respecting her wishes, there will be no funeral service. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
She is survived by one daughter, Gayle Hastings Dreager of Central City; and two grandchildren, Adam Blaine Tellis of Iowa City and Aubry Roseanne Schwarte of Maryville, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several husbands.
Aldine was born Nov. 4, 1937, in Waterloo, the daughter of Frank and Roselyn Griffiths Cooper. She spent her youth in the Independence area and moved to Cedar Rapids in the early 1950s. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1956. She spent most of her adult life working in the customer service field, most recently at the Cedar Rapids Public Library. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2004.
