A 29-year-old female inmate has been charged with assault against a peace officer after she became physically resistive with an officer while being moved to a holding cell on Thursday evening, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office said.
Reports indicate Debra Lynn Johnson, of 409 S. Dodge Street Apartment #4, became physically resistive when being moved from the female block of the jail to a holding cell after she defaced jail property. While being placed into a restraint chair, Johnson spit on a Deputy.
Assault on a peace officer is a serious misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in prison and a maximum $1,875 fine.
