Mike Sullivan, who resigned in April as executive director of Johnson County's joint emergency communications center following a drunken driving arrest, has died.
Police and medical personal were called to Sullivan's Coralville home at 160 Dovetail Dr. at 8:23 p.m. Tuesday for a medical call, according to a news release from the Coralville Police Department.
Sullivan, age 52, was found dead in the home. The cause of death was not readily apparent, but no foul play or criminal act is suspected, the release said. An autopsy will be performed, which will help determine the cause of death.
Sullivan was arrested for drunken driving April 22 and resigned as executive director of the new joint emergency communications center three days later.
Before being selected for that job last year, Sullivan was executive assistant to Johnson County's Board of Supervisors for seven years. Prior to that, he spent 10 years as director of the county's ambulance service.
