Mardorf, Eileen F.
Eileen F. Mardorf, 93, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Anamosa. The Rev. LaVerne Beener will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Interment will be at the Olin Cemetery in Olin.
Surviving are her daughter, Donna (Don) Guehrn of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Lora (Derek) Bryan, Karen (Jeff) Mull and Kristy (Brandon) Powers; two great-grandchildren, Bradley and Brooke Mull; and a nephew, Thomas McCormick.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl in September 1967; a son, David in January 1963; and a brother, Arlo McCormick.
Eileen Fay Mardorf was born July 9, 1916, in Olin, Iowa. She was the daughter of Jay and Audrey Bixler McCormick. She was a 1933 graduate of Olin High School. She later went on to receive her M.A. degree in Library Science at the University of Northern Iowa. On Nov. 25, 1937, Eileen and Carl Mardorf were united in marriage in Olin. Eileen was a charter member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Anamosa and a 4-H leader.
The thing she treasured most was the time she got to spend with her family and friends. She will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
