Pratt, Floyd
Floyd Pratt, 68, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 29, 2010, while vacationing in Hawaii from an extended illness. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at Teahen Funeral Home, by Pastor Craig Bex. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
Survivors include a daughter, Julie (David) Willets of Overland Park, Kan.; a son, Jeff (Dawn) Pratt of Batavia, Ill.; four grandchildren, Zach and Allie Brachtenbach and Austin and Kayla Pratt; two brothers, Nyle (Michele) Pratt and Maynard (Donna) Pratt; and his sister, Linda (Skip) Powers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann; his mother, Nellie Pratt-Ash; his father, Bernard Pratt; and his sister, Cindy Ash.
Born Aug. 24, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, he was married to Jo Ann Montague on Aug. 7, 1965. He lived his early years in Central City and Cedar Rapids, moved to West Des Moines for 11 years and spent the last 10 years in Overland Park, Kan. He was retired from the United States Post Office after 34 years of service.
Floyd was a loving and caring man and will be missed by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
