Peggy L. Berns, 71, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at the Ed and Joan Hemphill Hospice Unit in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Jordan's Grove Cemetery, Central City.
Peggy was born Sept. 18, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Pat (Powers) Jordan. She graduated from Central City High School and on June 18, 1994, she was united in marriage to Donald Berns.
She is survived by her children, Tina (Mark) Hickey of Cedar Rapids, Harold (Michelle) Goodlove of Mount Vernon and Laura (Tim) Goodlove Steiger of Westchester, Ill.; husband, Donald Berns of Marion; siblings, Shari (Don) Lovell of Vinton, Ken (Sue) Jordan of Martelle, Mike (Ginger) Jordan of Marion, Deb (George) Marsh of Central City and Steve (LuAnn) Jordan of Swisher; and sister-in-law, Charlotte (Chuck) Fietek of Mora, Minn.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and former husband, Harold Goodlove.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family or a charity of the donors' choice.
