Winterowd, Linda Sue
Linda Sue Winterowd, 63, of Cedar Rapids, died suddenly at her home Thursday morning, March 24, 2011. Funeral services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 J St. SW, by the Rev. Ed Powers, Asbury United Methodist Church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.
Linda is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dean; brother, David Schoonover, Ypsilanti, Mich.; mother-in-law, Lura Winterowd, Cedar Rapids; sisters-in-law, Janice (Wally) Hootman, Cedar Rapids, and Louise (Steve) Smola, Central City; brother-in-law, Darrell (Sandy) Winterowd, Ely; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Helen Schoonover; and two sisters.
Linda was born Jan. 24, 1948, in Keithsburg, Ill., and moved to Cedar Rapids from Peoria, Ill., in 1970. She married Dean A. Winterowd on Oct. 24, 1970, at Asbury United Methodist Church.
Linda was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years and still liked to watch her husband Dean bowl. Linda loved her dog Austin and cat Missy and she will be greatly missed by them.
A memorial fund has been established in Linda's name.
