Bird, Virginia M.
Virginia M. Bird, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Ed Powers. Visitation: 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence; daughters, Carol Guererro, Marilyn Meek and Mary Drahos; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Donna Mae Bird; and sister, Marjorie Morek.
Born Sept. 23, 1922, in Chelsea, Iowa, Virginia was the daughter of William and Caroline (Vavroch) Morek. On Oct. 2, 1939, she was united in marriage to Clarence Bird in Edina, Mo.
