Our beautiful angel, Barbara "Bobbie" Midcalf, got her wings and went home to be with family and friends gone before her on Friday, May 16, 2014, at Silvercrest of Anamosa, surrounded by her loving family. Private family services and burial will be at a later date. A visitation will be Monday, May 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, at a later date.
Bobbie was born Jan. 23, 1934, to Rolla and Dora Churchill Midcalf, in Manhatten, Kan. She lived in Marion and Hiawatha with her parents. Bobbie was such a kind and generous person. She loved to embroider her very special pillowcases, etc. She could be very witty. She enjoyed the Vinton Christmas lights and pizza with her niece, Jodi.
Bobbie is survived by her brother, Jim (Judi) Midcalf of Marion; her sister, Peggy (Don) Stimson of Sugar Grove, Ill.; nieces, Jodi Powers of Stanwood, Janel (Jeff) Brown of Traverse City, Mich., Amy Stimson and Deanie Tomasone; nephew, Jim (Diane) Midcalf of Center Point; several great-nieces, Megan Kucera, Abbe and Madison Tomasone, Emma and Olivia Midcalf; and great-nephews, Nathan Krumrei, C.J. Fahrner, Riley Powers, Taylor Brown and Jake Tomasone.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jackie.
Bobbie was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
A special thanks to Silvercrest of Anamosa and Above and Beyond Hospice of Monticello for being such very special people.
