Jonathan Robert Jorgensen, 51, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 19, 2016, at his home in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 24, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Family will greet friends one hour before the service Thursday at the chapel, beginning at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 3634 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids.
Jon was born on May 7, 1964, graduated from high school in Waukee and attended DMACC in Ankeny.
Jon is survived by his mother, Dorothy Powers; and his brothers, Joel, Justin and Terry; as well as his sisters-in-law, Corinne, Crystal and Linda. Jon is also survived by his nephews, Eric, Kyle and Thomas; and his nieces, Ashley, Sarah and Mikahla.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Jorgensen, and stepfather, Edward Powers.
Friends and family will remember Jon as a caring and gentle person with a love for fishing, singing and spending time with his family. Jon will also be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.
