Brack, Hazel G.
Hazel G. Brack, 89, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Texas, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010, at the Wapello Cemetery, Wapello, Iowa, by the Rev. David Schminkey or the Rev. Mark Thomas.
Hazel is survived by three children, Bud (Sally) Fite of Marion, Deanna (Robert) Schminkey of Ely, and Judith (Merle) Kelley of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert L. Fite; her parents; two brothers, Alfred Brimmer and Charles Brimmer; two sisters, Doris Cook and Hattie Brimmer; and a halfsister, Elsie B. Gates.
Hazel was born Feb. 18, 1921, in Independence, the daughter of Alvin and Etta (Closson) Brimmer. She retired from the U.S. Naval Station at Grand Prairie, Texas. Hazel was a member of Central Assembly of God Church.
