Broussard, Hazel
Hazel Broussard of Fort Collins, Colo., passed away Jan. 1, 2011. A private family memorial will be at a later date.
Hazel was born March 11, 1921, in Marion, Iowa, graduated from Marion High School in 1938, and married John, her husband of 61 years, in 1939.
She is survived by her daughters, Jonna Hall and husband Ron and Joan Knepler; her grandchildren, Katie and John Stieber, Andrew Knepler and Joseph Wholean; and her great-grandchildren, Clair and Quinn Wholean.
She had many friends and classmates. Among them were Margaret McBride and Lorraine Trimble, special friends from Marion, who enjoyed times together with Hazel. Margaret especially remembered swimming at the Marion YMCA.
Hazel was a warm, supportive woman who cared for her family without reserve. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor and was loved and respected by all who knew her. Her warmth, wit and wisdom will be missed but she will always be with us in our memories.
