CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders are No. 1.
At least in the latest United States Hockey League power rankings, as released Monday by USA Hockey Magazine. The Gazette's Jeff Johnson is among the media members who cover the league and vote in the power rankings.
Cedar Rapids leads the USHL in standings points with 53, on a 25-10-3 record. The Riders received 12 of the 13 first-place votes in the power poll, with second-place Green Bay receiving the other.
Cedar Rapids was second in last month's rankings.
The top five teams in the power rankings are in the Eastern Conference: Cedar Rapids, Green Bay, Dubuque, Bloomington and Youngstown. Tri-City is the highest-rated Western Conference club at sixth.
