Green Bay edges Riders in shootout

The Green Bay Gamblers scored on all four of their shootout attempts to beat the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, 2-1, last night in a battle of the top two teams in the United States Hockey League.
Jayson Megna's goal in the first minute of the third period tied the game for the RoughRiders (19-4-3, 41 points), but Jean-Paul LaFontaine, Austin Czarnik, William Kessel and Robert Francis all were able to beat Riders goaltender Brady Hjelle to win the shootout, 4-2.
Justin Kovacs and Megna were successful in the shootout for the Riders, who host the Gamblers (21-5-2, 44 points) on Saturday night at 7:05.
