Former Rider McConnell named head coach in Chicago

Former Cedar Rapids RoughRiders player Scott McConnell was named interim head coach of the USHL's Chicago Steel after Jon Waibel was dismissed by club ownership.
McConnell, 32, played on the very first RoughRiders team in 1999-2000. He is the grandson of legendary former University of Wisconsin head coach "Badger" Bob Johnson.
Chicago has the worst record in the USHL of 9-27-7. Here is the press release from the USHL:
