YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Ross Colton scored twice, and the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders split their weekend series with the Youngstown Phantoms via a 4-3 win Sunday afternoon at Covelli Center.
Youngstown won Friday's game. The RoughRiders (29-12-3, 61 standings points) rebounded here, also getting goals from Jacob Hayhurst and Johnny DeRoche.
Ben Blacker made 25 saves for the goaltending victory. Cedar Rapids is tied with Dubuque for first place overall and in the Eastern Conference of the United States Hockey League.
Colton scored 12:27 into the first period to put the Riders up first. After a Youngstown goal, he scored his team-best 24th goal of the season with four seconds left for a 2-1 lead.
Hayhurst got a power-play goal in the second period to put Cedar Rapids ahead by a pair. DeRoche's late second-period goal made it a 4-2 game headed to the third.
Cedar Rapids is at Chicago on Saturday night and hosts Waterloo the following night.
