CEDAR RAPIDS — The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders announced Tuesday they have acquired defenseman Matt Denman from the Minnesota Magicians of the North American Hockey League.
Denman, 19, is from Prior Lake, Minn. The left shot had two goals and 19 assists in 26 games this season for the Magicians.
He had four goals and 20 points in 49 games last season in the NAHL, which is considered a notch below the United States Hockey League, of which the RoughRiders are a member.
Denman replaces defenseman Bradley Stonnell on the Riders roster. Stonnell had a goal and assist in 16 games for C.R., which plays at Green Bay on Tuesday night and has a pair of home games this weekend (Friday night against Chicago and Saturday night against Dubuque).
