Hardinger, Loren Harry
Loren Harry Hardinger, 87, of Tucson, Ariz., and Albia, Iowa, died suddenly from a massive stroke on April 19, 2011, in Tucson. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Tucson, with the Rev. Sharon Ragland and the Rev. Jennifer Hageman officiating. Services will be held in Albia at a later date.
Loren is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rowena Lincoln Hardinger; daughter, Ruth (C. Michael Norton) Hardinger of New York City; sons, Dr. Jon L. (Joanne) Hardinger of Mason City and David L. (Mary Kay) Hardinger of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Covert and Gladys Marie (Gross) Hardinger; his brother, Dr. Philip Hardinger; and his sister, Naida Narjes.
He was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on Nov. 15, 1923, and lived in Albia. He has been a winter resident in Tucson the past 17 years.
Loren will be dearly missed. With Easter flowers in place at the church, Loren's family requests you memorialize him by contributing to St. Mark's United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 1431 W. Magee Rd., Tucson, AZ 85704 or the Monroe County Community Foundation Scholarship Fund, 1 Benton Ave. West, Albia, IA 52531-1942.
