Robert Charles Wheeler was born Oct. 9, 1925, in Iowa City, the son of Charles and Hattie (Clouse) Wheeler. During World War II he served his country in the United States Army. Bob has spent much of his working years in the plumbing profession, starting at the Department of Veterans Affairs, and later for many years at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Upon retirement, he continued to do odd jobs for family and friends; he enjoyed being able to help, and share one of his many stories he had for you! He lived at Senior Housing in Solon; here he was the official for everything, from plumbing needs, grocery runs, taxi service, or that friend to talk to, Bob loved living here!
