Pauline M. McDonald, 87, of Hiawatha, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, in the hospice unit at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after a lengthy illness. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Private family burial: Green Center Cemetery, Morley. Per Pauline's request, there will be no visitation. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her four daughters, Paula (Emil) Krepcik of Anamosa, Mary Jo (Bill) Barthelmes of Central City and Judy (James) Ringwald and Bonnie McDonald, both of Hiawatha; six grandchildren, Jill, Jason, Dena, Joe, Jake and Jena; and eight great-grand- children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and five sisters.
Pauline was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Olin, the daughter of Harry and Pauline Von Roden Norton. She married Willard L. McDonald on Oct. 23, 1945, in Cedar Rapids. Willard passed away in 1980.
Pauline was a homemaker and enjoyed working crossword puzzles, cooking, baking and her cats.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
