Moats, Marlene L.
Marlene L. Moats, 54, of Monticello, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at her home. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 16, at First Presbyterian Church in Monticello, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery.
Marlene was born April 1, 1956, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene M. and Dorothy M. (Ruley) Picray. She married Dan Moats on Sept. 29, 1973.
Marlene had a green thumb and loved gardening. She enjoyed fishing with Dan, cooking with her grandchildren and collecting rabbit figurines. She was also fond of her two pets.
Survivors include her husband, Dan; two daughters, Gina (Perry) Russett of Waterloo and Tara (Shane) Norton of Monticello; one son, Jason (Amber) Moats of Mount Union; eight grandchildren; and siblings, Ronald (Jane) Picray of Monticello, Judy (Duane) Sternhagen of Hopkinton and Connie (Gerald) Breitbach of Cascade.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Gerald John Picray and Eugene Picray Jr. (Peggy).
