Sebetka, Mark Thomas
Mark Thomas Sebetka, 30, passed away May 20, 2013, in Phoenix, Ariz. A private family mass and burial at St. John's Cemetery is planned.
Mark was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Feb. 9, 1983.
He is survived by his parents, Bob and Patty of Cedar Rapids; his brother, Mike; sister-in-law, Jenni; his nephew and Godson, Colt Michael of Montgomery, Texas; his aunt, Sandy Sebetka of Cedar Rapids; his uncle, Tom and aunt Lily Miller of Fort Myers, Fla.; his cousins, Tim of Anamosa, Robyn of Marion, Sarah of Marion, John of Florida, Greta and family of Florida, Erik and family of Colorado; the Chiaramontes and Herzbergers (Jenni's family); his special friend, Melissa of Cedar Rapids; and many other friends who Mark cared a lot about.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Dorothy Sebetka of Cedar Rapids and Lyle and Grace Miller of Fort Myers, Fla.; and his uncles, Frank, Ron and Don Sebetka of Cedar Rapids.
Mark graduated from Xavier High School in 2001, received his AA at Spirit Lake Community College and attended Drake University. He was employed at GoDaddy.com in Cedar Rapids and recently transferred to Phoenix for work. He really enjoyed his job and was very successful. Mark was a smart, friendly, charismatic, talented, creative person. He loved participating in sports of all kinds, especially wrestling, football, baseball, fishing, Frisbee golf, billiards and recently biking. He had a wonderful competitive spirit. He also enjoyed movies and a good game of poker or chess.
Mark will be remembered for his fun, happy and outgoing personality with a smile that “lit up the room.” His positive spirit was contagious to many people and he was very much loved by the lives he touched in a short period of time.
He had a kind, warm and gentle heart and found good in everyone he met. He loved children (especially his nephew, Colt) and animals (especially his dogs, Casey, Kelly and Bailey).
God bless his soul and may his family and friends keep him in their hearts and prayers. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
