The University of Iowa Office for Study Abroad said 12 students who are currently studying in Japan are accounted for and OK following the deadly earthquake and tsunami.
“They were all studying at Universities either in Tokyo or in places to the south of Tokyo,” said Janice Perkins of the Office for Study Abroad.
University spokesman Tom Moore said the university said the students have been in contact with their parents.
Perkins said many of the students reported feeling the quake.
